Wiegand-Glas advertises to attract young talents at training fairs

New apprentices in the first year of their training were welcomed at Wiegand-Glas at the beginning of September, when preparations and visits to trade fairs for the training year 2020 are already under way.

On 7 September 2019, the vocational information fair once again took place in the state vocational training centre in Hildburghausen. Trainers and apprentices from our glass plant in Schleusingen were present at this trade fair and offered interested school students the opportunity to engrave their own glass bottle as a practical task directly at the trade fair stand and at the same time acquire some information about the training opportunities at the Schleusingen site. A successful trade fair appearance!

On Saturday, 14 September 2019, two trade fairs were held at different locations. One of these was the vocational information fair in the Stadthalle in Ilmenau, which is organised by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Southern Thuringia. A team from our plants in Großbreitenbach presented itself there in order to show the different apprenticeship occupations for both the glass plant and PET.

The other fair was the "work@ludscht", which took place for the second time in Ludwigsstadt. More than 20 companies from the region participated, among them a Wiegand-Glas contingent from the Steinbach am Wald location. As last year, the fair was very well attended.

The largest training fair for the Steinbach am Wald site took place for the 11th time on 12 October 2019 in the sports halls of the Kronach School Centre. We presented our various apprenticeship professions and dual work and study courses there and were available to answer the many interested visitors' questions about apprenticeships, internships, studies, final theses, etc. Due to the high number of visitors and the good discussions, the exhibition was again a great success for Wiegand-Glas.
