They are definitely an eyecatcher - the six brand new Jumbo trailer trucks of Wiegand-Logistik GmbH. The „mirrorless“ Euro-6-Actros 5 from Mercedes-Benz is driving from now on for the customers of the Wiegand-Glas company group. Among other things we attached great importance to security and therefore our new chassis include all currently available safety and driver assistance systems. Lane keeping-, distance keeping-, attention- and turning assistants are just a few of the complete „safety package“. The included „Active Drive Assist“ from Mercedes combines the functions of individual systems and enables partially automated driving already today. Especially in stressful situations and particularly on long distances or when driving in traffic jams, the system offers increased safety and concentration and also relieves the driver. The fith generation of the „Active Brake Assist“ performs an automatic emergency stop within the limits of the system on standing and moving objects as well as on moving pedestrians, thus reducing and ideally preventing accidents. Furthermore, the camera technology on the left and on the right replaces the acquainted exterior mirrors and the driver can see his lateral surroundings on monitors on the A-pillars. Additionally, we have installed a rear view camera at the rear of the trailer. Naturally all supporting systems foster an economical and fuel-saving way of driving.
