Replacement purchases for the Wiegand-Logistik fleet

To make sure our truck fleet stays up to date with the latest technology, a not inconsiderable initial purchase was made at the end of last year.

12 new semi-trailer trucks from the commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN were brought into service

Eight of these trucks were planned for the regular replacement of the tractor units of our sliding floor trailers. A novelty in this category of trucks is that they are completely air-suspended, including the steering axle. This means it is always possible to change between sliding floor trailers and tarpaulin trailers, in accordance with the legal maximum vehicle heights. The remaining four increase the capacity of Wiegand-Logistik GmbH in the "mega-trailer" sector. For this purpose, five so-called mega-trailers (tarpaulin) from Schwarzmüller were also purchased. This investment enabled us to increase the size of our fleet by one truck to a total of 47 vehicles. All new semi-trailer trucks are equipped in the usual very driver-friendly way. Here we again invested in all assistance and safety systems according to our standards. We have integrated the "right-turn assistant" directly as standard using camera technology; it communicates information from all sides in order to improve the driver's view when turning right and to avoid serious accidents with pedestrians and cyclists. A 470 hp Euro 6 diesel engine combined with GPS-supported cruise control provides the necessary power and efficiency. These investments highlight the modernity of Wiegand-Glas business group's vehicle fleet and enable us to produce with the accustomed reliability and flexibility.
